FEATURING: Special guest socialist Vice Presidential candidate, author and anti-racism organizer Eugene Puryear!
Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation, ANSWER Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) and WORD (Women Organized to Resist and Defend) in New Haven to celebrate the opening of our shared office and organizing space!
Enjoy refreshments and the company of other activists and progressives!
This space provides an important center for these organizations and more in New Haven: WORD organizers use the space to plan and organize weekly rallies in support of reproductive justice at Planned Parenthood, facing off with and shutting down anti-choice bigots. ANSWER organizers hold meetings and volunteer sessions to build for mass demonstrations against police terror and in support of victims of the NHPD. The PSL supports all of this work and also holds regular public forums and educational meetings on subjects ranging from imperialism to the resistance at Standing Rock.
We invite you to celebrate with us - and join movements for change - as we keep building into 2017 and beyond!
Featured guest speaker Eugene Puryear will talk about the sham that is the two-party electoral system, the struggle for Black liberation and more.
Eugene is author of Shackled and Chained, Mass Incarceration in Capitalist America, a critical Marxist examination of the development of the massive U.S. prison system. He is a national organizer for the ANSWER Coalition and a cofounder of the Stop Police Terror Project in Washington, D.C. Eugene is Vice Presidential candidate for the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and the Liberty Union Party of Vermont.
